On Monday, February 26, 2024, the POPENVIROS project “Population dynamics under environmental challenges in Serbia” financed under the Prizma program of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia was presented in the Endowment of Vuk Karadžić.
The presenters were three members of the POPENVIROS team. First, Dr. Vera Gligorijević, full professor at the Faculty of Geography, University of Belgrade, presented the basic goals, concept, and methodology of the research, as well as the expected impact of the project. This was followed by a presentation on current trends in population dynamics in Serbia, which was presented by Dr. Ivan Marinković, senior research associate at the Institute of Social Sciences, and then Dr. Slavoljub Dragićević, full professor of the Faculty of Geography at the University of Belgrade, introduced the attendees to the environmental challenges that our the country is facing nowadays.
The presentation was attended by about 30 students and colleagues from the Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Geography, the Geographical Institute “Jovan Cvijić” of the Serbian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Ethnography SASA, and the Center for Demographic Research, as well as representatives of the Endowment of Vuk Karadžić. The presentation was moderated by Biljana Simikić from the Endowment of Vuk Karadžić.
