Aging & social change: Fifteenth interdisciplinary conference was held at the Linköping University, Norrköping, Sweden from 22nd to 24th September 2025. Under the motto “Aging, Intergenerational Solidarity and the Polycrisis”, conference welcomed over 20 scholars speakers and 100 authors from across Europe and beyond. The four-day program featured 22 sessions, 50+ presentations, several panels and keynote speeches.

Project Member Milica Maričić had the opportunity to present the project as well as two scientific papers.

She presented the paper entitled “OECD Better Life Index: How Can Countries Be Ranked Using the I-distance Method?” in the session “Growing Understanding”. The paper was authored by Milica Maričić, Veljko Jeremić (UB-FOS) and Natalija Mirić, POPENVIROS PI. The aim of this study was to provide an alternative ranking of the 38 OECD countries using the 2024 Better Life Index data and rank countries based on the assessed quality of life.

The second presented paper “Gender Equality in the EU on Health and Life Expectancy: How Can Member States be Segmented?” written by Milica Maričić and two co-authors from FOS (Teodora Rajković and Marina Ignjatović) was a part of the session Supporting Diverse Care Needs. The paper showed how European countries can be segmented based on the measured equality in terms of health, healthy lifestyles, and healthy life years.
