On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, POPENVIROS member Milica Maričić visited the KTH Royal Institute of Technology – Climate Action Centre and gave a seminar on “How Climate Shapes Populations – A Data Analyst’s View on the Climate-Population Connection”.

At the seminar, Milica Maričić presented the research findings from the POPENVIROS project. Through two case studies, she showed the students and interested practitioners how extreme temperatures—cold spells and hot days—affect mortality and birth rates, offering a transferable methodological framework for analyzing the relationship between environment and population. Both presented studies can be found in the project’s Library, under Scientific papers. Besides presenting the Project and the conducted research, Milica engaged in discussions with the attendees and talked about the possibilities of collaborating with the Climate Action Centre members on future publications that connect climate and population dynamics.
