Natalija Mirić, Principal Investigator of the project, participated in the ITEMA 2026 international conference, held at the Technical University of Berlin from 4 to 6 November 2026.

During the conference, she presented the paper “Environmental Stressors, Air Pollution and Fertility Intentions: A Qualitative Study from Serbia”, which explores the influence of environmental stressors and air pollution on fertility intentions in Serbia. The abstract of the paper will be published in the official conference proceedings following the conclusion of the conference.

In addition to her participation in the conference, Prof. Dr. Natalija Mirić attended Berlin Science Week 2026, one of Europe’s leading science festivals dedicated to fostering dialogue between science, society, and innovation. The event brings together researchers, universities, scientific organizations, policymakers, and innovators from around the world through a diverse programme of lectures, panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions, and networking events.

During Berlin Science Week, she exchanged experiences and ideas related to the project’s research themes with experts from various disciplines, discussing current challenges at the intersection of environmental change and demographic processes. These discussions also provided an opportunity to explore potential avenues for future scientific collaboration and joint research initiatives with international partners. More information about the event is available on the Berlin Science Week website.

Participation in the ITEMA Conference and attendance at Berlin Science Week contributed to the international visibility of the project, the dissemination of its research activities, and the strengthening of international scientific cooperation and knowledge exchange.
